The Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard' is a sneaker that pays homage to a historic moment in Michael Jordan's career. During a Nike Europe tour in 1985, Jordan shattered a backboard with a powerful dunk while sporting an orange, black, and white uniform. The 2015 release of the Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard' (also known as 'Shattered Backboard 1.0') commemorated this moment and uniform. A year later, in the Fall of 2016, the Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard Away' (also known as 'Reverse' and 'Shattered Backboard 2.0') was released. This version features black laces and Nike branding but swaps out the orange toe box and black around the toe and tongue for white, giving it a fresh look while still paying tribute to the iconic moment.
